Ardent Health Services, the parent company of the Lovelace Health System, has grown by 378 beds, a hospital and more than a dozen clinics virtually overnight through a deal it announced Wednesday. Ardent teamed up with the University of Kansas Health System to acquire Topeka, Kansas-based St. Francis Health. Ardent did not disclose the terms of the deal, but did say in a statement it plans to invest, along with the Kansas Health System, $50 million into the newly acquired hospital and its 15 clinics. The hospital will be renamed The University of Kansas Health System St. Francis Campus.

ALBUQUERQUE, NM –November 14, 2017 – Lovelace Women’s Hospital will be partnering with Defined Fitness this Saturday, November 18 to host a no cost seminar and hernia screening. 

The seminar will be hosted by Dr. Mario Leyba, a board-certified general surgeon with Lovelace Medical Group. Dr. Leyba performs and specializes in a wide variety of surgical procedures, including minimally invasive surgery utilizing the daVinci robotic system.

On Friday, August 25, Lovelace Health System went live with a new electronic health record (EHR), Epic. All Lovelace hospitals and clinics are using the software for a multitude of functions, including registration, billing, clinical applications and scheduling.

Lovelace Women's Hospital, the only hospital in New Mexico recognized as a Center of Excellence in Robotic Surgery and a Center of Excellence in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery by the Surgical Review Corporation, recently attained a new daVinci Xi robotic surgical device. The Albuquerque Journal interviewed Mario J. Leyba, M.D., a general surgeon at the hospital, about the device's capabilities and the benefits of robotic surgery.
