Studies have shown over 70% of women have uterine fibroids, which can cause heavy menstruation, pelvic pain, painful sex and frequent urination. The Acessa procedure is a minimally invasive procedure to treat uterine fibroids and doesn’t require a hysterectomy. The procedure treats almost all sizes and locations of fibroids, including those both outside and inside the uterine walls. It requires no cutting or suturing of uterine tissue, and patients typically go home the same day, meaning less pain and a quicker recovery.
The good news is you don’t have to travel far from home — Lovelace Women’s Hospital is the only facility in the state of New Mexico performing the Acessa procedure.
For more information on the minimally invasive Acessa procedure, call (505) 727-6742.
