ROSWELL, November 7, 2023 — Lovelace Regional Hospital (LRH) received an “A” safety grade in the Fall 2023 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade report, a national distinction recognizing its achievements protecting patients from harm and error in the hospital. This is the sixth safety grade “A” in a row for LRH.

ALBUQUERQUE – November 2, 2023 – Lovelace Health System (LHS) today announced the appointments of Brian Miller, BSIE, MSE, as the chief executive officer (CEO) of Lovelace Medical Center (LMC) and administrator of the Heart Hospital of New Mexico (HHNM) and Michael Kueker, MBA, as CEO of Lovelace Medical Group (LMG).

ALBUQUERQUE – October 18, 2023 – Heart Hospital of New Mexico at Lovelace Medical Center (HHNM) has received credentialing from DNV as a Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) Facility, demonstrating the hospital’s readiness to provide the full spectrum of VAD Program services – diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, and patient and community education – as well as clear metrics to evaluate program outcomes.

ALBUQUERQUE – October 17, 2023 – Lovelace Health System (LHS) was awarded the American Nursing Credentialing Center (ANCC) Practice Transition Accreditation Program (PTAP), signifying that the hospital is following best practices and utilizing an evidence-based curriculum that is focused on helping the new graduate nurse transition from student nurse into professional nursing practice. LHS is one of only 249 programs in the world who have received this accreditation.

ALBUQUERQUE – October 9, 2023 – Lovelace Westside Hospital (LWSH) received accreditation under the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP), a joint quality program of the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS), demonstrating its commitment to ensuring the safe and effective performance of metabolic and bariatric surgery.

ALBUQUERQUE, October 6, 2023 ––Lovelace UNM Rehabilitation Hospital (LURH) was given the Top Hospital Quality award for Quest for Excellence, the New Mexico Hospital Association’s (NMHA’s) premier honor for exceptional efforts to advance quality and patient care for the people of New Mexico. LURH was also named the winner in the Specialty Hospital category for its project, “Mitigating Medication Error: How Going to Gemba Saved a Critical Process.”

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (August 28, 2023) – Lovelace Medical Center and Lovelace Westside Hospital were named by named by U.S. News & World Report to its 2023-2024 Best Hospitals, demonstrating excellence in factors such as clinical outcomes, level of nursing care and patient experience.

 ALBUQUERQUE – August 15, 2023 – New Mexico Heart Institute/Lovelace Medical Group (NMHI) plans to study the Impella CP®, an FDA-approved heart pump, in patients who have experienced heart attacks in cardiogenic shock, to learn how the pump may help improve recovery. NMHI will be the first site in the United States to conduct this study.
