Michael Blea, M.D., F.A.C.S, is a general surgeon specializing in advanced GI & minimally invasive surgery.  In addition to general surgery his specific clinical interests include minimally invasive, robotic assisted benign foregut surgery and complex abdominal wall reconstruction (hernia repair). Dr. Blea earned his Bachelor of Science with a double major in Biology & Biomedical Engineering and his medical degree from Tufts University in Massachusetts. He completed his general surgery residency at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, MA.  He is fellowship trained in Advanced Gastrointestinal surgery & Minimally Invasive Surgery from Saint Francis Hospital (Hartford, CT). He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and is a member of the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons, the Society of Laparoscopic Surgeons and the American Hernia Society.

In 2022, Dr. Blea achieved accreditation as a Master Surgeon in both Hernia Surgery and Robotic Surgery, earning recognition for providing the highest quality of care and patient safety by Surgical Review Corporation (SRC).
