About Earl Latimer, M.D.
Earl Latimer, M.D. was born and raised in Roswell. He attended Goddard High School and college at NMMI (New Mexico Military Institute) in Roswell and Trinity University in San Antonio, TX. He received his MD degree at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine in Albuquerque. His post-graduate training consisted of a general surgery internship in Virginia and a residency in orthopedic surgery at UNMH in Albuquerque.
Dr. Latimer completed a sports medicine fellowship with the team physicians for the San Francisco 49ers, San Francisco Giants and Stanford University. Upon this completion, he became subspecialty certified in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine.
Dr. Latimer is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is an Active Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is a member of the American Orthopaedic Society of Sports Medicine, the American College of Sports Medicine and the New Mexico Orthopaedic Association.
In addition, Dr. Latimer is involved with team coverage of local high schools and college teams and provides coverage of the USA Triathlon at the ITU World Championships.
