About Jill Clark, MD, FACS, FASCRS
Jill Clark, MD, FACS, FASCRS, is a double Board-Certified general and colorectal surgeon with Lovelace Medical Group. Dr. Clark completed her fellowship in colon and rectal surgery at the University of Connecticut St. Francis Hospital in Hartford. She completed both her general surgery residency and medical school at East Tennessee State University Quillen College of Medicine in Johnson City. She also completed a certification in surgical ethics through the Center for Humanism and Ethics in the Surgical Specialties at Washington University, St. Louis, Missouri, as the program’s first virtual fellow.
Dr. Clark specializes in:
- Minimally-invasive surgery for diseases of the colon, rectum, and anus, including both laparoscopic and robotic surgical techniques
- Colorectal cancer, anal cancer and other rare malignancies of the lower GI tract
- Inflammatory bowel disease, including J-pouches
- Complicated diverticulitis
- Pelvic floor disorders
- Benign anorectal diseases, including hemorrhoids, fissures and fistulas
- HPV-related malignant and pre-malignant conditions
- Surgical ethics and grief around acute illness and surgery, especially for young cancer patients
Dr. Clark is a Fellow of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a Board Member and Ethics Director for the Northwest Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons. She also serves as a clinical associate professor at Washington State University in Spokane.
Dr. Clark has been practicing since 2009 and has trained 16 general surgeons to become Board Certified colorectal surgeons in her previous career as faculty in an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME)-accredited fellowship in Utah.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Clark is also married to COL Phil Lowry, General Counsel to the Montana Army National Guard, and they share a houseful of plants, cats, and dogs, including Betty White, the Golden Retriever. She also enjoys yoga, meditation and long walks in the wild.
