
ALBUQUERQUE, NM – April 16, 2025 – Lovelace Health System has named Jay Sundheimer, RN, MSN, chief nursing officer (CNO) of Lovelace Westside Hospital (LWSH), effective May 5, 2025.
Sundheimer brings over 17 years of nursing experience with him. Before joining Lovelace, Sundheimer was with Presbyterian Healthcare Services as CNO of Rust Medical Center since 2018 and prior to that he worked for LifePoint Health in Las Cruces as the assistant CNO. He has decades of nursing and leadership experience and a vast understanding of healthcare regulations, compliance, operations, patient care standards and industry trends.

Sundheimer earned a bachelor of science in nursing degree and master of science in nursing administration, both from New Mexico State University in Las Cruces. He was named as a Hospital and Health System "Chief Nursing Officer to Know" by Becker's Hospital Review and was named a Healthcare Hero by the New Mexico Hospital Association.
