Lovelace Women’s Hospital Recognized with Three Women’s Choice Awards®

Hospital honored as one of America’s Best Breast Centers, Best Hospitals for Obstetrics and Best Mammogram Imaging Center

ALBUQUERQUE – December 1, 2021 – Lovelace Women’s Hospital has once again earned national recognition for its care with three 2022 Women’s Choice Awards®, including designations as one of America’s Best Comprehensive Breast Centers, Best Hospitals for Obstetrics, and a Best Mammogram Imaging Center.

This is the eighth consecutive year Lovelace Women’s Hospital has been recognized as one of America’s Best Breast Centers and the second consecutive year it has been honored as one of America’s Best Hospitals for Obstetrics. These designations place the hospital in the top 9% of 4,728 U.S. hospitals.

The new Mammogram Imaging Center award was created two years ago to help women find the best mammogram imaging centers and reduce the number of unnecessary diagnostic tests. This is the second year in a row Lovelace Women’s Hospital has earned this distinction, making it one of 1,628 award winning centers around the country.

The Women’s Choice Award ® focuses on criteria based upon patient satisfaction, clinical excellence and women’s highest preferences when it comes to treatment and a quality hospital experience.

Lovelace Women’s Hospital has met the highest standards of breast care in the nation, as set by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC) and carry the Breast Imaging Center of Excellence (BICOE) seal from the American College of Radiology.

“We are very proud to have earned these recognitions,” said Amy Blasing CEO of Lovelace Women’s Hospital. “We are committed to empowering women to make educated, confident decisions about their health, while also providing the highest quality of care.”

To receive designation as one of the nation’s Best Hospitals for Obstetrics, Lovelace Women’s Hospital has low rates of early elective deliveries (between 0-1%), is a Baby-Friendly USA® designation to support best practices for breast feeding educational and counseling and is “definitely recommended” by patients reporting through the HCAHPS survey.

“Pregnancy is one of the most special times in a woman’s life and we are proud to be recognized as one of America’s Best Hospitals for Obstetrics,” said Abraham Lichtmacher, M.D., chief of women’s services for Lovelace Health System. “We are committed to giving expectant mothers the best in quality care and safety for her and her baby.”
