Lovelace Women’s Hospital’s Lactation Services and the Labor of Love team were recently recognized by national organizations.
Lovelace Women’s Hospital’s Lactation Services was recognized by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners and the International Lactation Consultant Association with the IBCLC Care Award. Lovelace Women’s Hospital was the only birthing center in New Mexico on this prestigious list. This award recognizes their activities that protect, promote, and support breastfeeding, efforts to improve maternal and child health, professionals that are educated and trained to deal with most challenging situations, and working in a facility that helps mothers get off to a good start in accomplishing their goals.
Labor of Love has been recognized with the CHW (Community Health Worker) Group of the Year Award by the American Public Health Association for high merit in collaboration. The award recognizes leadership in initiating and expanding outreach, making a difference in the community by networking with other agencies on behalf of patients, contributing to the improvement of health outcomes and access to health care by timely referrals and follow up, as well as providing additional support and resources through educational and health promotional materials and classes.
Lovelace Health System is thrilled to be recognized. We love New Mexico and the people here and look forward to continuing this great work in improving maternal and child health outcomes.
