ALBUQUERQUE – December 2, 2024 – Lovelace Women’s Hospital (LWH) and Lovelace Regional Hospital (LRH) have earned national recognition from the 2025 Women’s Choice Awards®, as two of America’s Best Hospitals for Comprehensive Breast Care and Obstetrics.

ALBUQUERQUE – November 20, 2024 – The 1000th WATCHMAN™ device was placed at Heart Hospital of New Mexico at Lovelace Medical Center (HHNM) by Michael Bestawros, M.D., MPH, an electrophysiologist with New Mexico Heart Institute/ Lovelace Medical Group. HHNM is the only facility in New Mexico to have placed 1,000 WATCHMAN™ devices.

ALBUQUERQUE – October 8, 2024 –Heart Hospital of New Mexico at Lovelace Medical Center (HHNM) has received the American Heart Association’s Mission: Lifeline® Regional Recognition award for its commitment to offering swift and evidence-based care to individuals across the region experiencing the most severe heart attacks.

ALBUQUERQUE – September 10, 2024 – Doctors at New Mexico Heart Institute (NMHI) participated in the RECOVER IV Trial to study the FDA-approved Impella CP heart pump in patients who have experienced cardiogenic shock, aiming to learn how the pump may help improve heart recovery. Cardiogenic (heart) shock is when the heart is weakened and not pumping enough blood to the rest of your body. Usually, a heart attack is treated by opening the heart artery that is blocked.

ALBUQUERQUE – July 17, 2024– Lovelace Westside Hospital (LWSH) has received the American Heart Association’s Get With The Guidelines®-Stroke GOLD PLUS quality achievement award for its dedication to ensuring all stroke patients have access to best practices and life-saving care.

This award recognizes LWSH’s commitment to ensuring stroke patients receive the most appropriate treatment according to nationally recognized, research-based guidelines, ultimately leading to more lives saved and reduced disability.

ALBUQUERQUE – July 15, 2024 –Lovelace Medical Center (LMC) earned the Get With The Guidelines® - Stroke GOLD PLUS with Honor Roll Elite and Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll, both for the 12th consecutive year.

ALBUQUERQUE – July 3, 2024 – Lovelace Medical Center (LMC) has performed its first robotic-assisted bronchoscopy using the Ion Endoluminal System (Ion) platform for minimally invasive biopsy of the lung. The Ion procedure was completed by Jeffrey Mazer, MD, Lovelace Medical Group pulmonologist, which allowed him to navigate to nodules in all 18 segments of the lung and remove tissue for biopsy with precision and accuracy.
