Leapfrog Group Names Lovelace Hospitals to Best Hospitals for Billing Ethics List
ALBUQUERQUE – December 30, 2022 – Lovelace Medical Center, Heart Hospital of New Mexico at Lovelace Medical Center, Lovelace Women’s Hospital, Lovelace Westside Hospital and Lovelace Regional Hospital have been named as The 2022 Best Hospitals and Surgery Centers for Billing Ethics by Money and the Leapfrog Group. These Lovelace hospitals comprise five of the six facilities in New Mexico to make the list, which includes 565 hospitals and 10 surgical centers nationally.

The Leapfrog Group is a nonprofit organization that aims to help consumers make informed decisions about their health and access safe, high-value care. For over two decades, it has collected and published data on patient safety and quality of care from voluntary surveys and other sources. The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade assigns an “A,” “B,” “C,” “D,” or “F” grade to all general hospitals across the country and is updated every six months. It is the only hospital ratings program based exclusively on hospitals’ prevention of medical errors and other harms to patients in their care. To qualify for the Best Hospitals and Surgery Centers for Billing Ethics list, hospitals had to receive a B letter grade or higher on the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade assessment for fall 2022.
