Thursday’s ribbon cutting at the new Lovelace Health Care Clinic in Roswell expands primary health care delivery in the community. “Right now primary care is delivered through ER and urgent care, which is a good access point when you need care and you are not on a routine visit,” explains Lovelace Regional Hospital – Roswell CEO Lloyd Scarrow. “The problem is, it is episodic.”
Lovelace Health Care Center will offer preventive health care, health education, wellness exams, and screenings. Additional long-term care such as chronic illness management relating to hypertension, diabetes and heart disease, will be readily available and accessible to the community. Women’s services, children’s services and geriatric services will provide patients on-going, proactive health care.
The clinic is staffed by Glenn Vogelsang, M.D., Ph.D., and Cynthia Sam-Vogelsang, a certified family nurse practitioner.
