Lovelace UNM Rehabilitation Hospital, Lovelace Women’s Hospital recognized for excellence

Albuquerque hospitals awarded prestigious Ardent Health Services Leadership Awards

ALBUQUERQUE –March 15, 2019 – Ardent Health Services has recognized two Lovelace Health System hospitals at its recent Ardent Leadership Awards for Insight & Innovation, Best Employee Loyalty and CEO of the year. Awarded annually, the Ardent Awards recognizes its leaders, hospitals and clinics for their dedication to service excellence, performance and uncompromising commitment to excellence.

Ardent Health Services is the parent company of Lovelace Health System. Lovelace UNM Rehabilitation Hospital and Lovelace Women’s Hospital were chosen from all eligible hospitals in the Ardent system.

Lovelace UNM Rehabilitation Hospital earned the Best Employee Loyalty award for not only having the highest employee satisfaction and engagement scores, but also the most improvement in those scores from 2017.

“At Lovelace UNM Rehabilitation Hospital, we are committed to hiring and retaining the best health care employees, who dedicate their lives to caring for our patients,” said Derrick Jones, CEO of Lovelace UNM Rehabilitation Hospital. “We are proud of the hard work our staff, physicians and clinicians have invested over the last year in order to lead the Ardent system in best employee loyalty.”

Lovelace Women’s Hospital was recognized for two awards: the first for Insight & Innovation for its G.R.A.C.E. program (Giving Respect and Compassion to Expecting Moms). G.R.A.C.E. focuses primarily on helping expecting mothers who are struggling with an addiction to opioids; both prescription drugs and illicit street drugs, such as heroin. Lovelace works closely with community partners, such as behavioral health clinics, social workers and agencies that can assist with a variety of resources for these moms. Lovelace Medical Group providers offer medication, such Subutex, which can be prescribed for pregnant women using opioids.

Additionally, Lovelace Women’s Hospital was also honored with a second award, given to the outstanding CEO, Sheri Milone, who was recognized as a CEO of the Year for achieving key benchmarks and creating a positive, patient-focused culture.

“We are dedicated to the highest quality of care to women of all ages,” said Sheri Milone, CEO of Lovelace Women’s Hospital. “We are so proud of all the work we do for the mothers and babies we help in our local community through G.R.A.C.E. We are quite literally saving lives and helping care for mothers and our littlest patients. It’s also an honor to be recognized by Ardent as CEO of the year. I wouldn’t have been able to achieve it without the tireless work of all of my employees in every corner of our hospital.”
