About Ernesto Otero-Lopez MD

Dr. Ernesto Otero-Lopez is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon, specializing in spine surgery with New Mexico Orthopeadics. He has been an enthusiast of medicine since high school, and always liked making people feel better. He admires the physiology and mechanics of the human body and enjoy researching the many causes of back pain. Dr. Otero’s goal with every patient is to listen to them and provide the best possible treatment plan for their spine concerns. With thorough evaluation of their situation and goals, Dr. Otero is able to tailor a treatment plan for his patients that is based on what is medically in their best interests. He is fluent in both English and Spanish and has published clinical research manuscripts, book chapters, and he’s given many lectures during his residency/fellowship and will continue to do so, due to his love for academics. Dr. Otero also served as a Chief Resident in his residency program.
