Susan Lewis, M.D.

Susan Lewis, M.D., M.B.A., is the Medical Director of the Lovelace Medical Group Hospitalist program.  Dr. Lewis earned a medical degree from the University of New Mexico School of Medicine, and completed an OB-GYN residency at the University of Minnesota, followed by a family practice residency at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis. She holds a Master of Business Administration degree with a focus in Healthcare Management. She is also a certified addictions counselor and a Certified Skills for an Empowered Workforce instructor. Since 2011, Dr. Lewis has served as a hospitalist physician for DaVita. Before that, she served as an Emergency Room physician and hospitalist at the Dan C. Trigg Memorial Hospital, where she was the chief of staff in 2011. She has extensive experience in behavioral health and therapy, as well as health care administration. She is a member of the American Association of Family Practice, the American College of Sports Medicine, the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the Employee Assistance Professional Association, and the American Society for Training and Development, where she is the past secretary/treasurer.
