Lovelace Women’s Hospital Recognized as Only Hospital in central New Mexico with an ‘A’ Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade for Fall 2025
ALBUQUERQUE, November 13, 2025 — Lovelace Women’s Hospital (LWH) received an “A”safetygradein the Fall 2025 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade report, a national distinction recognizing its achievements of protecting patients from harm and error in the hospital, for the second time in a row.
The Leapfrog Group is an independent national watchdog organization committed to health care quality and safety. The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade assigns an “A,” “B,” “C,” “D,” or “F” grade to all general hospitals across the country based on over 30 national performance measures reflecting errors, injuries, accidents and infections, as well as systems hospitals have in place to prevent harm.
“We are proud to have earned our second ‘A’ grade in a row, and the only hospital in Albuquerque, from the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade report,” said LWH Chief Executive Officer Tracie Stratton. “This grade is important because it helps give patients the information they need to make a decision on which hospital puts the welfare of its patients first. Quality and patient safety are our constant focus and it is so rewarding to be recognized for our hard work.”
The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the only hospital ratings program based exclusively on hospital prevention of medical errors and harms to patients. The grading system is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually, in the fall and spring.
