The system performs non-invasive, highly precise radiotherapy treatments across a range of clinical indications including ablative intracranial and extracranial radiosurgery treatments
ALBUQUERQUE, NM – October 21, 2025 – Lovelace Cancer Center (LCC), a division of Lovelace Medical Center (LMC) is Albuquerque’s only system utilizing the Edge® radiosurgery system, enabling precise treatment delivery with shorter treatment times. Shorter treatment times will help to decrease patient discomfort and expedite clinic efficiency, helping to minimize the burden our cancer patients experience during their cancer journeys.
EDGE® enables non-invasive, ablative intracranial and extracranial radiosurgery treatments, in addition to highly precise radiotherapy treatments across a range of clinical indications. The system offers sub-millimeter accuracy with increased treatment precision across different tumor types, increased options for treatment modalities customized for specific patient care and increased efficiency for shorter treatment times.
“The advanced imaging capabilities and treatment delivery tools with the Edge® allow treatment of a wider array of cancers and clinical cases with accuracy, flexibility and efficiency,” said Patrick Beagen, MD, Lovelace Medical Group radiation oncologist. “This opens the door to more treatment options for patients who may not otherwise be considered for radiation therapy or radiosurgery.”
“Lovelace Cancer Center is proud to be the only hospital in Albuquerque to use the Edge® radiosurgery system for its patients,” said Brian Miller, chief executive officer of LMC. “This is another example of our dedication of our care team and staff to providing the latest technology with the highest quality of care, all while allowing our patients to stay close to home.”
