Lovelace Medical Center was proud to sponsor a 17-year-old girl’s wish through the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Taylor N. is 17 and from Roswell. She was diagnosed with ganglioneuroma in eighth grade and has been dealing with the repercussions of that ever since. Taylor is a dancer, but the tumor she has is wrapped around her sacral nerves and pushes on her internal organs. Taylor’s wish was to be a model for Seventeen Magazine. LMC’s $5,000 donation allowed Taylor’s dream to come true.
In September, Taylor was flown to New York City to spend a day in the life of a Seventeen model. The magazine’s team did a special photo shoot with Taylor, complete with hair, makeup and stylists. Taylor said that it is important that she shares her story of overcoming adversity with as many people as possible, and that is why modeling for Seventeen was important to her.
Taylor will be a freshman at the University of New Mexico next fall. Her story was also featured on Seventeen Magazine’s website.
