Caregiver stress is a set of symptoms that commonly afflict anyone taking care of an impaired or chronically ill friend or family member. All caregivers experience some of these symptoms at some time or another. Because most caregivers are accustomed to being in charge, it may be difficult for them to admit they are tired, angry, overwhelmed, or depressed. For some, it is impossible to ask for help for themselves.
This seminar will explore the needs of caregivers and the methods—both small and large—that they can utilize to maintain their own physical and mental health while caring for others. This is an interactive format where questions and brainstorming are encouraged and welcomed.
