Alex Tomlin, KRQE Reporter

Moving to New Mexico has been an amazing experience. I love trying new things and taking on new challenges, and working at KRQE and living in Albuquerque have afforded me the opportunity to do both.
My family is split across the country, with my father’s side in Virginia and my mother’s in Texas. I graduated from West Texas A&M University in the spring of 2007, after just three short years. (Can you tell I am one of those over-achiever types?) I have a Bachelors of Arts in Mass Communications with an emphasis in Broadcasting. Go Buffs!
My first job was in the Texas Panhandle, in a small town called Amarillo; it’s only about four hours from Albuquerque. I was promoted quickly and ended up anchoring The Weekend Edition and The News at Noon. That first job allowed me to produce, report, anchor and edit my own pieces, making me a well rounded reporter because I had the opportunity to learn different jobs inside the newsroom.
I landed in Albuquerque in February of 2009, and couldn’t be happier. I enjoy working night-side and having the chance to learn from some of the greats in this market, including Dick Knipfing.
I enjoy cooking and spending time with my amazing boyfriend, Matthew Legan Sanchez, and our dog, Flynn. Alex is dancing with Nick from Enchantment Dancing.

Kristina Chongsiriwatana, M.D.

Dr. Chongsiriwatana was born and raised in Albuquerque and attended Amherst College in Massachusetts. She missed New Mexico during her four years back East, so returned to Albuquerque for medical school and doesn't plan on moving away again. She likes to travel, knit and crochet in her free time. Many of her patients call her Dr. Chong, which some women find easier to pronounce than her seven syllable last name.

Medical School: University of New Mexico School of Medicine, 2004
Residency: University of New Mexico School of Medicine, 2008
Board Certification: American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, 2010
Professional Affiliations: Fellow, American College of OB/GYN
Undergraduate Degree: Amherst College, 2000
Special Interests: Dr. Chongsiriwatana loves taking care of pregnant women and helping them navigate through what can be a scary time by reassuring them throughout their pregnancy. She's excited about the many new contraception options for women, which are innovative and much easier for women.

Dr. Chong is dancing with Ben from Arthur Murray Dance Studios.

Gadi Schwartz, KOB Eyewitness News 4

Gadi Schwartz is a 4 On Your Side Investigative Reporter for KOB Eyewitness News 4.
Gadi began his television career at KOB-TV while still in college working summers as an assignment editor.
Gadi grew up around New Mexico news. He says he spent a good deal of his childhood tagging along with his father Sergio Schwartz, who covered stories around the state for the Spanish TV station in Albuquerque.
Working out of New Mexico's Roundhouse since 2008, Gadi now claims to be a full fledged Santa Fean and relishes covering events like Zozobra, Santa Fe's world renown Spanish and Indian Markets and the annual Northern New Mexico pilgrimage to Chimayo.
Gadi also regularly breaks many important political stories in the Capital  City including questionable hiring practices in state agencies, raises for certain state employees while others faced furloughs, and uncovering scandal after scandal at the Secretary of State's office throughout 2010.
Gadi is the recipient of Associated Press awards including Best General News, Best Editing and Feature News. He was also awarded  best spot news by the National Press Photographers Association.
Gadi was born in Guatemala City. His family moved to Belen at age three and then to Albuquerque when he turned seven. Gadi attended Cibola High School and is a New Mexico State University graduate. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Government and Journalism with a minor in International Relations.

Rudy Acosta, Univision

While in high school in El Paso, Rudy took a course in communications and began working on the school paper. After graduating from high school, Rudy got a job at the TV station KTSM NBC News Channel 9 in El Paso as a video editor and directing the PBS television cameras and audio. Rudy started studying digital media at the University UTEP in El Paso, Texas.
In 2009, Rudy came to the Land of Enchantment to continue his studies at the University of New Mexico. He joined Univision News New Mexico in November 2009 as a video editor, then technical director and later as news entertainment reporter.

Jill Galus, KOB Eyewitness News 4

Jill Galus is a general assignment reporter and fill-in anchor at KOB Eyewitness News 4. Prior to moving to Albuquerque in March 2012, Jill lived in Las Cruces for two years, where she reported for ABC-7 in El Paso, TX.
Born and raised in Michigan, Jill fell in love with the Southwest when she moved to Phoenix to attend Arizona State University in the fall of 2005.  She graduated with a degree in Broadcast Journalism from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication, and was chosen to address her class as the student speaker on graduation day in May 2009.
Jill says it's impossible to consider reporting a job, since doing what she loves hardly feels like work at all.
Being in the spotlight, in front of an audience is something Jill learned she loved from a very young age, during some of her first dance recitals.   At the age of 3, she started ballet, because according to her mom, she was always walking around the house on her tippy-toes!  If you ask any of Jill's friends, they will tell you this is still true today.  While Jill will always consider herself a ballerina, salsa and latin dances are among her favorites.
