Our integrated Cancer Care Program is equipped to fight cancer head on with you every step of the way, from our physicians to our state-of-the-art technology.  Lovelace Cancer Care program provides a full range of services and care for cancer treatment, including medical oncology, radiation oncology and surgical oncology. We recently invested $7.2 million in the latest equipment available, such as our linear accelerators and New Mexico's first and only TomoHD. This technology helps improve the accuracy and delivery of radiation therapy resulting in improved outcomes and a better quality of life compared to traditional radiation therapy solutions.

Lovelace Medical Center is also home to the latest technology in brain cancer treatment, the Gamma Knife Perfexion to treat difficult head and neck tumors. The Gamma Knife Perfexion stereotactic radiosurgery system allows for multiple brain lesions in different locations to be treated in a single treatment. Most patients have little to no side effects and are back to their normal lifestyle within a day.

Additionally, the Breast Care Center at Lovelace Women's Hospital is New Mexico's only breast care center accredited by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC). Lovelace Women’s Hospital’s multidisciplinary team is a group of well-established physicians and experts that meet face-to-face weekly to discuss, in confidence, every patient with a suspected or confirmed diagnosis of breast cancer. This approach ensures that the best treatment options are presented to the patient.
